Treat Yourself To An Improved Smile In The New Year!

Upgrade your smile and confidence with cosmetic dentistry in Wickford

Smile transformationAlthough we are in the run up to Christmas and everyone is busy putting the final touches to the Christmas festivities, it won’t be too long now before it is all over and the dust will start to settle as we enter the new year. For some people, this can bring about a sense of ‘here we go again’, with the excitement of the festivities behind us as we head back to work, while for others it is the potential for a new beginning.

We all hope that 2023 will bring more hopeful and optimistic news than we have seen recently, but much of this is out of our direct control. What we can control though, is how we look after ourselves and the choices that we make regarding the way that we look and feel. In advance of the new year then, we thought that we would remind our Wickford patients of the cosmetic dentistry treatments that will be available at the Cygnet Dental Practice in the new year; procedures that can help you have a great looking smile!

Teeth whitening

Let us start with the most popular cosmetic dental treatment; the teeth whitening procedure. This is a great way to improve the appearance of your teeth in just a short time; all without the need for invasive dentistry. Our ‘at home’ teeth whitening system allows you to gradually whiten your teeth in the comfort of your own home, with the full effects being seen at around two weeks. The levels of whiteness can be adjusted to your requirement (not everyone wants dazzling white teeth) and the treatment is long lasting but can also be repeated safely whenever you wish. Once the full effects are seen, you can expect your teeth to be up to eight shades whiter than they were before.

Dental implants

Although not strictly speaking a cosmetic treatment, implants can improve the aesthetics of your smile whilst also providing you with a strong and stable replacement tooth. If you currently have a gap in your teeth, or if you wear dentures that you find uncomfortable or unsatisfactory, dental implants could be the solution for you. These replacement teeth that offer artificial roots as well as a crown are rapidly becoming the ‘go to’ option for people who have missing teeth. If you would like to discuss this option with one of our Wickford team, please call us to arrange a free non clinical consultation for the new year.

Crowns

Similarly, crowns have a practical use in that they can be used to restore a tooth that is significantly damaged. They are also usually used to complete a root canal procedure. Patients who have teeth with large fillings that they find unappealing might wish instead to consider having the tooth ‘capped’ using a dental crown. This may not be appropriate in all cases and you will need to discuss this with the dentist. If you are a suitable candidate though, this is a great way to improve the appearance of a significantly filled tooth.

Orthodontics

Orthodontics treatments have come a long way in the past few years. Most of you will probably know orthodontics as ‘dental braces’. With this name often comes the image of highly visible metal braces that not only look uncomfortable but also often very unsightly too. Given that orthodontics often have to be worn for long periods of time, this inevitably deters some from wearing them.  Modern orthodontics are much more discreet though, with some, such as the Invisalign teeth straightening system, doing away with the wires and brackets so commonly used and replaced with transparent trays that sit over the teeth and can be removed during eating meals and cleaning your teeth. These, and fast acting cosmetic braces are proving to be very popular with many of our Wickford patients.

Porcelain veneers

Those of you thinking that this is all very well but that your teeth are stained beyond restoration will be pleased to know that even if they are too badly stained for a teeth whitening procedure, there is a solution in the form of porcelain dental veneers. These are attached to the front of your visible teeth, in effect replacing the stained or even damaged enamel of your natural teeth. Once fitted, they are then trimmed and polished to give your teeth a great new appearance.

Facial aesthetics

Finally, we can not only help you have a great looking smile, but if your skin has started to lose some of its elasticity and lines and wrinkles are appearing, we can help you with our range of facial aesthetic treatments which include the popular wrinkle reduction therapy. If you would like to see how we can help you have younger looking skin, contact our facial aesthetics team to make an appointment.

With Christmas just a few days away, it is probably unlikely that you will want to start any of these treatments right now, but appointments can currently be made for the new year, or feel free to give us a call when 2023 arrives. Until then, the team at the Cygnet Dental Practice wish all of our patients a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
